Jay B. Hill

Jay B. Hill “joined his parents, Julius ‘Jiggs’ and Ferne Hill, in heaven” on June 27. Jay was 61 years old.

He is survived by his ex-wife, Lynda Hill; his brothers, Jerry “Cork” Hill and Kelly Hill; his sister, Cheryl Neier; his children, Jamie Hill and Jesse Hill; and his grandsons, Jakson and Jebidiah.

In high school Jay took part in many activities including being class president, president of Key Club, and captain of his football team, and playing basketball.

Jay took a job pulling on the green chain at Plum Creek after graduation. He then went to work for the Forest Service in the summer and trapped with his brother, Cork, in the winter. These were some of the best days of Jay’s life.

He was married in 1975 and had his daughter in 1976. Jay went to work for the aluminum plant in 1977. In 1978, Jay and Lynda purchased 18 acres and began building their home by hand with the help of family and friends. Jay’s son was born in 1980.

Jay enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, farming, and watching his children play sports. Jay was always willing to help his children. Jay helped take care of his parents until they passed last year. He was a rock for many.

Jay was a kind man with a big heart. He was always mischievous, messing around with his nieces, nephews, children and grandsons. Jay loved dogs and all of God’s creatures. Jay loved spending time with his grandsons. Jay remained living in his home until his last days. He will be missed by all.

Darlington Cremation and Burial Service is caring for Jay’s family. There is no funeral service planned at this time, but the family will have a celebration of life for Jay. Those who wish to attend can contact Darlington at 755-2662.
