Dorothy Burns was a loving wife, devoted mother and a caring grandmother. She was born in Shelby on Nov. 10, 1939 to Raymond and Beatrice McVay. In 1957 Dorothy graduated from Flathead High School. Shortly after high school Dorothy married Francis D. Burns on Nov. 15, 1960. Dorothy loved her garden, to make crafts, and as the years passed watching and playing with her grandkids.

Surrounded by family Dorothy passed away on Jan. 10, 2017 at North Valley Hospital.

She is preceded in death by her mother, father, and two sisters. Dorothy is survived by her husband Francis, son LaVern, and daughter-in-law Pam, grandchildren Tianna and Kyler, three sisters, a brother and numerous nieces and nephews. Thank you to the North Valley Hospital Staff for such excellent care for our family. And a special thanks to Lou, who took such great care of our sweet Dorothy. Cremation has already taken place and no services are planned at this time. Columbia Mortuary is caring for Dorothy’s family.
