The struggle continues for the boys basketball team this season as they lost a pair of games on the road. On Friday, Libby dropped them 51-43 and on Saturday Polson beat them 74-62.

The Wildcats are now 1-7 on the year.

Matthew Morrison led the scoring against the Loggers, with 18, but no oen else was in double figures. The Cats had 20 turnovers in the game and didn’t shoot well from the line, noted coach Chris Finberg.

Against Polson, the Cats battled back from a 20-point deficit in the third to make a game of it, outscoring Polson 22-8 to cut the Pirates’ lead to 50-46, but they just couldn’t get over the hump. Still, Finberg was happy with the way the team competed, despite the loss.

In every game, it seems like the team has one bad quarter that kills them as consistent play has proven elusive. They’re a better team than their record would suggest.

The boys are on the road Thursday against Whitefish. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
