The Columbia Falls boys basketball team got its third win the of the season last week. They beat Corvallis on the road, 44-34.

A box score of the game was not available, but the Cats were led by Logan Stephens with 16, followed by DJ Schrade with 12, Austin Green had nine, Matt Morrison had four, Quintin Schriver had two and Dakota Bridwell had one.

Green also had 10 rebounds and five assists.

“The kids played well defensively,” coach Chris Finberg said. He also also pleased that they took fewer three-point shots. They were two-for-five beyond the arc, while the Blue Devils were 6 of 25.

“We were shooting high percentage twos,” Finberg noted.

The Cats will look to get another win at home against Whitefish Thursday night. Game time is 7:30 p.m. The Wildcats beat the Bulldogs earlier this season.

The winner of the Whitefish game will go into the divisional tourney in the first round, while the loser will have to play in a play-in game. The winner of the play-in game will face Dillon right off the bat — the best team in Class A. So the Cats are really looking to beat Whitefish.
