Another two to three feet of snow on the way, Weather Service says

The Flathead Valley and Glacier National Park saw about 12 to 14 inches of snow Friday night. It will see much more in the next couple of days, the National Weather Service is warning. Areas like Polebridge and West Glacier could see anywhere from 36 to 50 inches of snow by Monday night, with blizzard conditions Sunday night into Monday, meteorologist Corvy Dickerson said.

Columbia Falls should see 24 to 30 inches of snow. Higher terrain in Glacier could see 60 to 70 inches Dickerson said.

The snow is from warm moist air from the Pacific colliding with arctic air that will spill over the Continental Divide.

High temperatures Sunday will be in the teens and 20s, but Sunday night they’ll drop into the single digits to near zero, with winds gusting to 30 mph.

The snow should taper off by Monday evening, but light snow is expected until Wednesday night.

On Thursday, another system is expected to move into Northwest Montana, Dickerson said.
