Robert (Bob) Greer

Robert (Bob) Greer passed away peacefully at home in Marysville, Washington on Nov. 22, 2017.

Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Carol, his sons, Bob Jr. and Brad (Patricia) and granddaughter Caroline; six sisters: Wanda Branenburg, Lois Klient, Ardith Jenson, Wilma Vance, Phyllis Fritz, and Beverly Ellis; and many nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his parents Wilmer and Marion Greer; his brothers Russell and Weldon; and sisters LaDona and Dorothy.

Bob was the youngest child of the Greer family born on Aug. 19, 1940 in Kalispell.

Bob had a very creative and interesting life.

He joined the National Guard in 1958 before graduating from John Rogers High School in Spokane, Washington and continued to serve periodically over many years. After graduating from high school, Bob started one of his many careers as a dispensing optician in Spokane, making both contact lenses and artificial eyes. His work took him to Los Angeles, California and then back to Seattle. He made a career change and was hired by Boeing as a journeyman machinist. After a few years, Bob explored a unique laboratory equipment job opportunity in Ohio. Looking for adventure, the family moved to Montana where Bob built a home, dabbled in ranching, became a respected Western artist and was the owner of the North Fork Saloon in Columbia Falls. Once their sons had both left home, Bob and Carol moved back to the milder Seattle climate where they worked for Razore Ent. as property managers at the Villa d’Italia for 20 years until their retirement in 2005. Bob enjoyed spending his retirement years in both Marysville and Mesa, Arizona. He was a kind and caring man with a wicked sense of humor.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held in Marysville, next spring 2018. Details will be announced closer to the date.
