The Columbia Falls volleyball squad competed hard at the Northwest-Southwest A tip-off tournament last weekend.

In pool play Friday, the young Wildkat squad split with Butte Central 25-21 23-25; dropped Dillon, 25-21 25-22, split with Frenchtown, 25-21, 19-25 and lost to Hamilton, 25-21, 25-16.

Coach Jolandie Brooks was pleased with the play.

“I’m very happy. We weren’t sure what to expect as we’ve never been on the court together in competition,” Brooks said. “They played hard and smart and held their own. I’m really proud of them!”

Libby had the best record at 5-0-1 record. Whitefish was next at 5-0-2.

The Kats face Browning on the road Thursday and then conference rival Libby at home Tuesday, Sept. 5.
