Paxton R. Fisher

Paxton R. Fisher, 18, of Columbia Falls, “went to be with Jesus” Tuesday, April 18, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center due to complications from cancer.

Paxton will be remembered, by all who knew him, for the passion he lived out through all he did. His greatest passion was knowing and living life with Jesus Christ. His favorite place on earth was Dickey Lake Bible Camp, where he spent every summer. His greatest desire was that as many people as possible would be able to see the love and freedom in knowing Jesus as Savior. The desire was evident in everything Paxton took part in. He lived, not perfectly, but passionately, fervently, intentionally, and gave every endeavor all he had, and pushed everyone around him to do the same. He admitted when he was wrong, asked for forgiveness and moved on.

In his last days if you asked him what you could do for him, he would simply and genuinely say, “seek Jesus.”

His greatest passions were soccer, and music. He loved soccer not only for the beauty of the game, but for the lessons it taught him about how to live in community; about how to be a part of a team and family. He started playing when he was 5 and never quit. He loved music, and was gifted at it because he could feel the life in it; its beauty of motion and emotion. He started playing drums when he was 5 and played for the Lord every week for youth group and Sunday services at his home church, Fellowship Church, in Columbia Falls.

His was a powerful personality that made an impact everywhere he went. It drove him to excel at everything he did and loved, and it has certainly left a deep imprint on those around him. He will be greatly missed, and gratefully remembered.

Paxton is survived by his parents Joseph and Nikki of Columbia Falls, his brother Payton and sister Aletheia. He also leaves great-grandparents Glenn and Yvonne Kartheiser of Columbia Falls, and great-grandmother Dorothy Fisher of Coram; paternal grandparents Bob and Karen Fisher of Coram; maternal grandparents George and Karla Lippy of Stayton, Oregon, and many uncles, aunts and cousins, and innumerable close friends.

A memorial service and celebration of a life well lived will take place at 4 p.m., Friday, April 28, at Canvas Church, 255 Summit Ridge Drive, Kalispell. Refreshments to follow.

In lieu of flowers the family will be setting up a memorial account at Parkside Federal Credit Union, proceeds to bless a few of Paxton’s favorite things.
