No. 1612 Resolution # 338 School District Six Elementary District Intent to Impose an Increase in Levies WHEREAS, as an essential part of its budgeting process, the Board of Trustees are authorized by law to impose levies to support its budget. The Board of Trustees estimates the following increases/decreases in revenue and mills for the funds noted below for the next school fiscal year beginning July 1, 2017, using taxable valuations from the current school fiscal year as provided to the District. BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees of School District Number Six, Flathead County, Columbia Falls, Montana is estimating the following changes in revenues/mills to support the Elementary District budget for the 2017/18 school year: Building Reserve Fund: Estimated change in revenues: $164,100 increase. Estimated change in Mills: 5.82 increase. Estimated impact on a home of $100,000: $7.86 increase. Estimated impact on a home of $200,000: $15.71 increase. *lmpacts above are based on current certified taxable valuations from the current school fiscal year. Regarding the increase in the Building Reserve Levy referenced above, the following are school facility maintenance projects anticipated to be completed at this time: 1. Replace/Repair the Junior High school building roof. 2. Replace the telephone system-district-wide. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees reserves the right to modify the amount of the levy through August 24, 2017, which is the date the final budget must be adopted by the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees estimates the following increases/decreases in revenue and mills for the funds noted below for the next school fiscal year beginning July 1, 2017, using taxable valuations from the current school fiscal year as provided to the District. Estimated change in Mills: 2.39 increase. Estimated impact on a home of $100,000.: $3.23 increase. Regarding the increase in the Building Reserve Levy referenced above, the following are school facility maintenance projects anticipated to be completed at this time: 1. Replace/Repair the gym bleachers. 2. Replace the telephone system-district-wide. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees reserves the right to modify the amount of the levy through August 24, 2017, which is the date the final budget must be adopted by the Board of Trustees.
