The Pine Grove Pond Fishing Access Site opens April 8 for the summer fishing season. Pine Grove Pond is a popular family fishing pond at Rose Creek Crossing.

Since last year, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks installed two new fishing piers paid for by the Bill Kamps Hooked on Fishing Fund. The new fishing piers will be dedicated during a Hooked on Fishing event May 25. The piers are built to American Disabilities Act standards. There are now three fishing piers and one floating dock on the pond.

On opening day Flathead Wildlife, Inc. is teaming up with Moving Forward Adaptive Sports to include fishing in their line of activities. Matt Sather, a Moving Forward board member, is an avid angler. Flathead Wildlife, Sather, and Sportsman and Ski Haus are helping Moving Forward obtain adaptive fishing equipment. Opening day will introduce Moving Forward to the opportunities at Pine Grove Pond including the new accessible piers. Flathead Wildlife is providing free hot dogs to the public and anglers at lunch time. Flathead Wildlife and Walleyes Unlimited members will be available for help with fishing. Some loaner rods will be available.

In 2009, the Street Family donated the site to FWP and since then it has been fully developed. Each year thousands of visitors enjoy the beautiful site, making it the most heavily used FAS in the region. In 2016, Robin Street donated another five acres to expand the site to over 28 acres.

Fishing regulations allow children 14 years of age or younger to keep one fish per day while all older anglers can catch and release fish at Pine Grove Pond.
