The streak is over.

The Columbia Falls girls volleyball team took their winning streak all the way to the championship of the Missoula Invitational, but lost in two sets to the AA Missoula Sentinel Spartans, 25-19, 25-8 Friday.

The Spartans are the top-ranked AA team in the state. The girls were 12-0 heading into the tourney. The championship was best of three sets, not the usual five sets.

The Wildkats rolled through much of the field, including wins over several AA teams in the tournament. The Kats beat AA Glacier in the semis to make it to the championship. They also beat Flathead in championship bracket as well.

Individual stats and scores were not available.

The loss in Missoula didn’t get the team down much. On Saturday, the Kats dropped Stevensville in straight sets, 26-24, 25-17, 25-16.

Morgan Stenger had 15 kills in the win.
