Spikers maintain unbeaten streak, but Bulldogs put up a fight
The Columbia Falls volleyball is still perfect on the season, but it wasn’t always easy.
The Kats dropped Whitefish Thursday at home, 25-20, 25-23, 22-25, 25-21 and then blanked Frenchtown in three staright sets, 25-11, 25-20, 25-18 Saturday.
Whitefish gave the Kats a run for their money, as every set was knotted up until the final points, but the Kats, save for faltering the third, had another gear when they needed it.
Morgan Stenger had a great game against the Lady Bulldogs, with 16 kills — most of which came at critical moments. Stenger, a senior, has signed with Montana Western to play for the college after she graduates.
Against Frenchtown, it was all Kats. Stenger had eight kills and Cydney Finberg had 24 of the team’s 28 assists in the win.
The girls are now 11-0 on the year and 5-0 in conference play. They’ll get thoroughly tested this week as they face a host of AA opponents at the Missoula Invitational Friday and Saturday.
