Paving a low priority

Recently my good neighbor Mr. Joe Novak shared his concerns regarding the fact that dust and climate change are impacting the habitat of wolverines in Glacier National Park. I share his concerns: Glacier National Park and the North Fork of the Flathead are special places. The deserve the highest levels of protection. It is also important to make sure we are taking care of residents at Polebridge and the greater North Fork as well.

Since moving to Polebridge, I have generally found the road to be in great shape. I can usually make it to town in about an hour, which isn’t bad for living in paradise! In my experience, the biggest issue facing the North Fork is the lack of county law enforcement and a rural fire department.

I am not sure is spending millions to pave the road would be a good use of taxpayer money, but if Flathead County thinks this is a good use of money there needs to be a law enforcement presence and emergency services in place first. This is common sense.
