The 31st annual Night of Lights, sponsored by Columbia Falls Rotary, will be on Friday, Dec. 2.

The parade begins at 6:30 p.m. Lineup begins at 5 p.m. near the intersection of Nucleus Avenue and Railroad Street. Judging for floats starts at 5:30 p.m. Awards will be given for floats.

This year there is an entry fee of $10 or a donation of food to the food bank of equivalent value.

Entrants are asked not to have Santa on their float; he will arrive at the end of the parade. For safety, entrants are also asked not to throw candy from the float or vehicle.

Registration forms can be found at the local banks, NAPA, the Columbia Falls library, or columbiafallsrotary.org. The forms can be returned to the Rotary Club of Columbia Falls, PO Box 2331, or emailed to bigsky@centurytel.net. Call Roger Elliot at 892-1905 or 261-6362 for more information.

Prior to the parade, a craft fair will be held all day at North Valley Senior Center, with soup and dessert served at 4 p.m. Another craft fair will be held at the North Valley Hospital Community Room beginning at 4 p.m. Vendors should contact Diane at candlesbydiane@gmail.com or 892-2132.

Also before the parade are musical performances. The Columbia Falls Jazz Band will perform at the Senior Center at 5:30 p.m. Carolers from Our Redeemer Lutheran Church will sing in front of Smith’s before the parade.

The parade itself will be emceed by Chris Motichka. Following the parade, live performances including more caroling and the Columbia Falls High School Drum Corps will be held at The Coop.
