Questions Law Center view

| November 9, 2016 3:01 PM

This is in regard to your front page story on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, titled “Southern Poverty Law Center calls out Taylor Rose.”

The story states that watchdog groups have raised alarm over candidate Taylor Rose. The author then quotes statements from the Southern Poverty law Center (SPLC). The problem is that the author identifies the SPLC as a long-time anti-hate group, but fails to mention that the SPLC is a left leaning organization that frequently label Christian family organizations as hate groups because they promote traditional marriage, and label organizations that are concerned about Islamic terrorism as Islamophobic haters.

The SPLC has a track record of vilifying and listing as a hate group any organization that disagrees with its ideology. At one time they even labeled Dr. Ben Carson as an extremist.

Who is hating who? The article continues discussing affiliations and legitimacy. Why is it that left leaning organizations are considered legitimate, but right leaning organizations are not? This is clearly a double standard.

Respectfully,
