Because of recent heavy rains and snowfall, permanent repairs on the Canyon Creek Road, Forest Road No. 316 on the Glacier View Ranger District, will not be completed this fall.
Temporary repairs are being made to allow snowmobile traffic on the groomed route this winter.
The road is open to motorized traffic about 2.5 miles from the intersection with the main North Fork Road, to the intersection of the Ninemile Road, Forest Road No. 316D. From there, Forest Road No. 316 is closed 7 miles to the intersection with Forest Road No. 316C, South Fork of Canyon Creek. The Canyon Creek Road will open to summer motorized vehicle traffic when final roadwork is completed mid-summer, 2017.
