Cats win ABC to wrap up regular season

The Columbia Falls boys track team wrapped up the regular season with a win at the Polson ABC meet Saturday. The girls were fifth.

Tanner Dana won the 100 and 200 meters with times of 11.45 and 23.04 respectively. Sage Wanner won the 3,200 with a time of 10:07.63 and the 400 relay team of Braxton Reiten, Logan Kolodejchuk, Stephen Lindsey and Dana won that race with a time of 44.01.

The boys also won the 1,600 relay with a time of 3:29.24. Logan Stephens, Charles Martin, Wanner, and Dana ran that race. Dana was an ironman for the Cats, running four races on the day.

Kolodejchuk also won the javelin with a throw of 175-11.

The girls won the 1,600 relay with a 4:13.13 and Ashley Caffrey won the pole vault with a leap of 9-6.

Allyson Gimbel won the shot put with a throw of 39-0.5.

The teams also competed against Glacier in a dual at home last Thursday.

Kaitlyn Casazza won the 300 hurdles with a 48.09. Caffrey, Ellie Johnson, Kiara Burlage and Mary Baker won the 400 relay with a time of 52.38 and Gimbel won the shot put.

Gimbel has the state’s best shot put throw this season in any school class.

On the boys side, Wanner won the 1,600 with a time of 4:58.06; Kyler Burns won the high jump with a 6-0 leap and Kolodejchuk won the javelin with a 174-3.

The team travels to Frenchtown Friday for the divisional track meet. 

Events start Friday afternoon and continue on Saturday.
