Peyton Kehr went 2 for 3 with a home run and KJ Schweikert threw a three-inning no hitter as the Columbia Falls girls softball team easily dispatched Whitefish last Thursday at home.

Sydney Hovde, Samantha Collins, Kerry Lanners and Hannah Freeman all had doubles in the rout. Lanners ended the day with four RBIs.

Whitefish is a better softball team than it has been in recent years.

Wildkats Coach Dave Kehr said it was important for the Kats not to take the Bulldogs for granted and they didn’t — they pounded the ball and fielded well.

The Kats have a bigger test Tuesday, when they face Frenchtown at home after presstime. It’s a makeup game for a rain out earlier this season. The girls then travel to the Butte Central tourney in Butte on Friday and Saturday.
