Judy L. Whirry

| May 11, 2016 8:42 AM

Judy L. Whirry of Columbia Falls passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at North Valley Hospital of health complications.

Judy was born in Shelby on Oct. 6, 1950, to Walter and Helen (Christian) Whirry. The second born of seven children, Judy enjoyed ranch life on the Hi-Line. She graduated from Havre High in 1968. She attended Denver Women’s College where she studied fashion merchandising.

She was a high-spirited lady who loved the outdoors, camping and relaxing by the water. Judy enjoyed spending time working and tending to the cows at the family ranch on the South Fork of the Milk River North of Browning. One of her most cherished memories was a trip with her grandmothers, Julia Whirry and Lorene Christian, to Europe in the summer of 1968. She walked to her own beat and danced to her own drum; she had many adventures and met many people along her journey. She was one of a kind.

Preceding her in death was her mother Helen Christian Whirry, and her brother Burt Whirry.

She is survived by her father, Walter Whirry; husband, Mike Turner; daughter, Tahnyia Anderberg; grandson, Grant Wallace; brothers, Gordon Whirry, Brian Whirry and Bill Whirry; sisters, Jane Whirry Mues and Dawn Whirry Diskin; and many nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

A memorial service for Judy later this summer is being planned by the family.
