Glacier Country Montana is hosting its own celebration for the National Park Service centennial. The birthday party is May 18 from 5-7 p.m. at Glacier Outdoor Center in West Glacier.

The celebration is open to the public and will include remarks from Montana’s Lieutenant Governor Mike Cooney, Glacier National Park Superintendent Jeff Mow and Expedia’s head of global corporate citizenship Katherine Cheng.

“With Glacier National Park being the main calling card for our tourism region, we’re thrilled to be celebrating one of the icons we love the most,” said Racene Friede, executive director of Glacier Country Tourism. “And what better way to kick off the summer season than with a birthday celebration for our country’s most special places.”

The party will feature free appetizers and cocktails from Glacier Distilling, Glacier Ginger Brew, Kalispell Brewing Company, Pepsi, Izaak Walton Inn, Belton Chalet, Glacier National Park Lodges and Glacier Park Inc., as well as informational tables from Glacier National Park Conservancy and Glacier National Park.

The birthday party is part of the #PictureMontana partnership between Glacier Country Tourism and Expedia that will have 14 domestic and international influencers exploring Western Montana on an epic, week-long road trip from Missoula to Whitefish, with stops that include the Mission Mountains, Flathead Lake and Glacier National Park.
