A Calbag Resources employee injured his leg while cutting steel at Columbia Falls Aluminum Co. plant last Wednesday. The 40-year-old man was going into shock when emergency responders were notified at 3:20 p.m.

He received stitches and had been released by Thursday morning, said Cliff Boyd, Calbag director of asset recovery. The plant is in the middle of being torn down.

Boyd said it was “not a loss time accident.” The injury was caused by an accident with a cutting torch. The employee will return to work once the stitches heal.
