One Columbia Falls business fails alcohol checks
Three Forks Grille failed an alcohol compliance check conducted by the Columbia Falls Police Department on Dec. 19, 2015 at 13 local businesses.
The Montana Department of Revenue Liquor Control Division will send the restaurant a letter detailing any potential fines or citation, Columbia Falls Officer Mike Johnson said.
The department works with adults between 18 and 21 years old, who are paid to try to buy alcohol. Beforehand about 10 people are asked to confirm that the adults look younger than 21, Police Chief David Perry said.
The compliance checks are funded through a $6 million federal grant obtained by Havre HELP committee. The grant will fund compliance programs throughout the state. The Columbia Falls hasn’t had funding for the compliance checks for several years.
