Drug bust at Del Bonita crossing nets 32 pounds of meth
The The Canada Border Services Agency announced a striking drug bust on the U.S.-Canada border at Del Bonita border crossing north of Cut Bank.
Border agents uncovered a whopping 32 pounds of methamphetamine in 14 packages that were hidden in the rocker panels of a Canada-bound sports utility vehicle on Jan. 31.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police subsequently charged the female driver of the vehicle, Season Truax, 40, of Calgary on three counts — importation and possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Canadian Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and smuggling under the Customs Act.
Agents grew suspicious of the vehicle after observing “inconsistencies in the rocker panels” in the vehicle, according to a press release.
They then tore apart the panels and found the meth.
