Kats hammer Bigfork to go 6-0

The Columbia Falls girls basketball team hammered Bigfork to extend their winning streak to six last Thursday on the road, 58-22.

The Wildkats shot out to a 20-1 lead in the first quarter against the Class B Valkyries and never looked back. The Kats held the Bigfork to just 7 points in the first half.

Columbia Falls had four girls in double figures. Peyton Kehr led the squad with 15, followed by Dani Douglas with 14, Cydney Finberg with 12 and Kiara Burlage with 11. The girls hit 11 treys in about 2 1/2 quarters. After that, it was a running clock.

“We got off to a good start,” said coach Cary Finberg.

The girls (6-0) face Libby and Polson on the road Jan. 6 and 7.
