Spikers perfect at tip-off tourney

The Columbia Falls volleyball squad went 10-0 at the Northwest vs. Southwest Tip-Off tournament in Whitefish, taking the championship in the two-day tourney.
The Wildkats dropped Butte Central 25-13, 24-26, 15-11 in the final for the title. There were 10 teams in the tourney, including Corvallis, Butte and Whitefish.
Corvallis beat Whitefish in the third-place match. The Kats went 6-0 Friday and 4-0 Saturday.
The Kats beat Hamilton, Stevensville and Dillon on Friday and Corvallis and Butte Central Saturday.
“They played very well,” said coach Jessy Matthews. She said the team focused on playing at its level all the time and playing to win every single point.
The girls face Flathead away Thursday and then travel to Corvallis and Hamilton Saturday.
