Familiar names take Boogie to the Bank titles
Some familiar names took the top spots at the annual Glacier Bank Boogie to the Bank race during Heritage Days Saturday.
Marshall Beatty of Missoula won the men’s 5k in a time of 15:24.6. Samantha Mundel of Coram won the women’s 5k in 17:12.5. In the 10k, it was Troy Fraley of Kalispell winning the men’s overall race with a time of 30:31.3, while Jesse Rumsey of Columbia Falls won the women’s crown with a time of 41:47.7.
Mundel is a Columbia Falls graduate and was one of the school’s top runners. She now runs for Carroll College. Rumsey is a coach at Flathead and Fraley was one of the Glacier Wolfpack’s top runners and now runs for Gonzaga.
The race was well-attended with about 200 runners and walkers participating in nearly ideal conditions.
The race is largely downhill or flat, making for a forgiving course.
