The Columbia Falls swim team took second at the Cut Bank Invitational last week. James Role took first in the 11-12 year old 50 breast stroke with a time of 47.09 seconds.

The boys 9-10 year olds won the 100-yard medley relay with a 1:51.96. Other swimmers continued to shave valuable seconds off their times. The girls 8U won the 100 freestyle medley with a 1:48.8.

Avery Role took off 22 seconds, Peyton Malmberg took off 32.5 seconds and Conner Malmberg took off 51 seconds off their total times.

Coach Mike Nelson said several younger swimmers also learned to do their first flip turns.

"Being a young team and still being able to bring home a second place trophy shows how hard these kids work hard and compete well," he said.

The team travels to Chester this weekend.
