Chamber meets

The Columbia Falls Area Chamber of Commerce will hold their monthly luncheon at the Teakettle Community Room, 235 Nucleus Avenue, on Tuesday, Jan. 13, from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Columbia Falls city manager Susan Nicosia will talk about establishing a tax-increment financing district, developing a Welcome Park on U.S. 2 and a dog park elsewhere, next year’s street chip-sealing and water and sewer projects, and three new Safe Routes To School projects. Lunch costs $12.

Water compact

The Montana Reserved Water Rights Compact Commission will hold a public meeting at the Hilton Garden Inn Kalispell on Saturday, Jan. 10, beginning at 9 a.m. to present the revised Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes Water Compact. Baseball concession

Columbia Falls Baseball is looking for individual or group who may have an interest in earning some money by operating concessions for the upcoming 2015 season, late April through mid-July depending on All-star and Babe Ruth tournaments. History talk

University of Montana history professor Anya Jabour will speak about “Montana Women in History” at the Museum at Central School, 124 Second Avenue East in Kalispell, on Sunday, Jan. 8, at 2:30 p.m. as part of the 13th annual John White Lecture Series. Farm bill

Montana State University Extension and the U.S. Department of Agriculture will host a public meeting to about the Agricultural Act of 2014 at the Hampton Inn in Kalispell on Monday, Jan. 26, from 1:30 to 4 p.m.

Master gardener

Montana State University’s Flathead County Extension office will offer a Master Gardener Level 1 class at the Earl Bennett Building, in Kalispell, on Thursdays from 3 to 4 p.m. from Jan. 15 through March 5.
