Caryl Empie

Caryl Joy Empie, 82, formerly of Lewistown, passed away in Columbia Falls on Feb. 6, 2015, after a battle with lung cancer.  

She was born Oct. 29, 1932, in Derrick, N.D., to Vern and Esther (Anderson) Clover.

Caryl enjoyed hiking with friends in Glacier National Park and was especially passionate about dogs, as evidenced by her 20-plus years of operating Glengarry Kennels.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert “Bob” Empie.

She is survived by her five children, Robert of Kalispell, Brian of Kalispell, Terri Block and husband Bryan of Kalispell, Lynda Peters and husband Joe of Columbia Falls, and Brad and Theresa of Lewistown; eight grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place. At her request, there will be no funeral services, but a private family memorial will be held at a later date.
