William Armstrong

H. William “Bill” Armstrong, age 78, passed away Jan. 28, 2015, at Genesis Health Care in Whitefish.

Bill was born on Feb. 14, 1936, in Salamanca, N.Y. to Harold and Elaine (Higbee)  Armstrong.

He worked for the Forest Service as a civil engineer and was a professional outfitter. He like fishing, hunting, trapping, wood working and anything outdoors. Bill was also a volunteer firefighter for the Coram and West Glacier Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife Peggy Armstrong; children Aleisa and Rick Stevens, Peggy Peterson, Bill and Dee Armstrong, and Martin Armstrong; sister Marlene Hutchinson; grandchildren Miranda, Leslee, Carol, Lauren, Marty, Steven, Angelica, Shannon and Heather; and great grandchildren Derek, Brooklyn, Kaitlyn, Easton, Cole, Ava and Grace.

A celebration of life will be held at Canyon Elementary School in Hungry Horse on Feb. 7, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
