Swim records fall in Great Falls
Columbia Falls swimmers broke six school records in a Dec. 18 meet in Great Falls. The Wildcats got best times from Karyssa Nelson, Colton Babcock and its relay teams.
Nelson set new marks in the 100 freestyle and 200 intermediate medley with times of 57.08 and 2:24.33. Nelson won the 100 free with a time of 57.08.
The free mark was two seconds faster and the medley mark 15 seconds faster than her old school marks.
The girls 200 medley relay shaved a little less than a second off the old school mark and the boys shaved three seconds off their 200 free relay and their 200 medley relay. The boys won the 200 free relay with a time of 1:35.99. Babcock shaved 1.6 seconds off the male 100 butterfly record he set in Missoula earlier this year. Babcock won the race with a 1:01.23.
All told, the boys were third overall and the girls were sixth.
