Summer's over, fall high school sports begin this week

Columbia Falls High School fall sports start this week tryouts and practices. Here's a schedule of practice times and coaches contact names.

Students are reminded they must have a sports physical done after May 1 of this year as well as a concussion information statement sheet on file before they are able to practice or try out for a team.

Athletes and their parents are strongly encouraged to attend the annual fall sports meeting this Thursday at the Little Theater at 6 p.m. where school officials will go over all the rule changes and regulations for the upcoming season.

Aug. 13 (Thursday) Golf practice is held at Meadow Lake Golf Club at 3:45 p.m. (2:45 on Wednesdays). Contact coach Gene Marcille, 249-3693.

Aug. 14 (Friday): Football 3:30-5:30 p.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m. Contact coach Jackson Schweikert (360) 333-0855

Aug. 14: Volleyball: To be announced. Contact coach Jessy Matthews 546-9119

Aug. 17: Girls soccer: Practice is from 8-9:30 a.m. and evening practice is from 4-6 p.m. Contact coach Greg Trenerry, 387-5633

Aug. 17: Boys Soccer: Tryouts for week one are 8-10 a.m. and 5-7 p.m. Following week will be 5-7 p.m. Third week will be 4-6 p.m. Contact coach O'Brien Byrd at 249-0552

Aug. 14: Cross Country: Practice at 8 a.m. at the high school track, contact coach Richard Menicke at 871-3375

Aug. 17: Cheerleading: Noon to 6 p.m. Contact coach Marissa Radabah at 270-4062.
