With continued hot and dry conditions, Glacier national park has banned all campfires in backcountry campgrounds. Fires will be allowed in designated sites in front country campgrounds, however.

Only liquid petroleum or LPG-fueled stoves, lanterns or heating devices will be allowed in backcountry campgrounds in the Park until further notice.

Campfires are still allowed in designated fire rings at Apgar, Bowman Lake, Fish Creek, Logging Creek, Quartz Creek, St. Mary, Avalanche, Cut Bank, Kintla Lake, Many Glacier, Sprague Creek and Two Medicine.

Stage One fire restrictions are still in effect across the region, which ban campfires in all other undeveloped camps and alos prohibit smoking “unless within an enclosed vehicle, building, or in an area three feet in diameter, that is barren or cleared of all flammable materials.”
