Raymond Russell

Raymond LeRoy Russell, 72, of Watertown, S.D., died, April 19, 2015, in Sioux Falls, S.D., surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren.

He was born Sept. 7, 1942, to Howard and Lorraine Magdelene (Buell) Russell in Great Falls. He grew up in Havre, and after high school he served in the Navy.

He married Janet Norden June 15, 1968, in Kalispell. After having their two children in Montana, and managing credit bureaus in Montana and Wyoming, Ray purchased the Credit Bureau of Watertown, S.D., in 1978. He owned the credit bureau until 2006 when he retired.  

He was a member of the Elks, former member of Rotary and Cosmopolitan Clubs, and also enjoyed his Wheel Inn coffee group.

He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew Robert Russell.

He is survived by his wife Janet, of Watertown; children Jennifer Dahl, of Hawley, Minn., and Jason Russell, of Gillette, Wyo.; grandchildren Olivia, Andrew and Aidan Dahl and Emma Russell; brother Richard Russell and wife Linda, of Columbia Falls; and sister-in-law Judy and Sotero Muniz, of Polson.

Memorial services will take place at Wight, Comes & Sogn Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Friday, April 24, at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Scott Dempster officiating.
