Symphony Pops books national act

| April 8, 2015 8:49 AM

This year’s Summer Symphony Pops concerts promise to be the biggest picnic music event of the season.

Glacier Symphony has booked the top national act The Hit Men, former stars of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, for two nights on July 11-12 at the Rebecca Farm Equestrian Center. The recording artists count the 1973 hit song “Oh What a Night” among their plethora of rock-n-roll history gems and with the Glacier Orchestra backing up the five singers it will be two nights of elegant music.

The Hit Men will perform great songs from the Four Seasons songbook; from “Rag Doll,” “Dawn” and “Walk Like a Man,” to “Can't Take My Eyes Of You,” “Marianne” and “Sherry”  plus other mega hits that members of The Hit Men helped make famous back in the day such as Cat Stevens’ “Peace Train,” Jim Croces “Leroy Brown,” Carly Simon’s “You're So Vain,” and Tommy James’ “Mony Mony.”

The pastoral setting at Rebecca Farm will be transformed for the Symphony Pops concerts on July 11-12 with full stage lighting and sound, and two large projection screens will enhance the concert experience.

Field Passes (formerly a Car Pass) allow access only to the non-reserved area located behind the premier sections and are offered in advance at a discount. As in prior years patrons are welcome to bring a picnic or buy food and beverages from vendors. For all viewing sites (with the exception of picnic tables) seating is on the ground in low backed lawn chairs or blankets and no tables, pets or grills will be allowed.

Reserve your premium spot in advance or buy a Field Pass early and get a discount by visiting the website www.gscmusic.org or call 407-7000.

Corporate support for the Summer Symphony Pops concert includes Kool 105.1, Daily Inter Lake and Rebecca Farm with additional support from Glacier Bank.
