Wants debates

| September 11, 2014 7:15 AM

My concern is a number of candidates have opted out of several debates offered by various media outlets in Montana. Mr. Zinke, Mr. Daines and Mr. Mitchell to name the obvious ones.

Mr. Mitchell explains everyone knows his conservative views, which he stated in a letter to the Daily Inter Lake editorial board. However, there are many gray-area problems in all these offices the candidates are running for.

For example, with Mr. Mitchell running for county commissioner, what are his views on the green box sites, funding for county schools, roads, fire departments and county sheriff, and the different demands for different parts of the county, i.e., Whitefish and West Glacier.

Although not all these areas would be brought up in a debate, it would be nice for people to hear his views on some. One could also relate similar ideas for Mr. Zinke and Mr. Daines.
