Wildcats blow out Fergus County in season opener

The offense was on fire Saturday in Lewistown, as the Columbia Falls football team racked up seven touchdowns against Ferguson High School.

Sophomore quarterback Dakota Bridwell passed for 309 yards and five touchdowns as the Wildcats crushed the Eagles away 47-7 in the Class A football opener for both schools.

Bridwell hit Morgan on scoring strikes of 62, 15 and 20 yards. Morgan finished with 11 receptions for 263 yards. The Cats outgained the Eagles 572 to 211 in total yards.

Gabby Deloime and Trevor Houston had the other two touchdown receptions from Bridwell. Ike Schweikert and Wyatt Green scored on runs of 3 and 5 yards for Columbia Falls.

The Wildcats, up 14-0 at the half, tallied 33 more in the final quarters. Columbia Falls continues with nonconference play on Friday at Hamilton.
