The Seahawks senior slow-pitch softball team from Columbia Falls won the league championship tournament Aug. 9 with three wins and ended the season with an overall record of 11-2.

The Seahawks play with five other teams from Kalispell in the Flathead Senior Men’s Softball Association League. The players must be at least 50 years old to play in the league.

The Seahawks also won league championships in 2011 and 2012. Over the last five seasons, the Seahawks’ record is 59-13.

The players believe in team play, emphasizing fundamental situation softball strategies and enjoy the camaraderie, exercise and fun of playing the game.

The Seahawks are sponsored by the Blue Moon Nite Club and Casino in Columbia Falls. The players would like to express a huge thank you to Dick and Char Sapa and to all their fans who attended their games and supported them.
