Jazz festival

Columbia Falls High School musicians will hold a jazz festival in the high school’s Little Theater on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. The Sonifers, Columbians, school music teachers Mollye Faulkner, Joel Knadler, Beth Benton and Karen Ulmer will all perform with the Don Lawrence Orchestra. LaCuisine will provide refreshments after the show.

The Wizard

Students at West Glacier Elementary School will perform the Missoula Children’s Theater musical “Wizard of Oz” at the school on Friday, Oct. 24, at 6 p.m.

Turkey bingo

The Ruder Elementary School PTO will hold their fourth annual Turkey Bingo Night at the school gym on Friday, Nov. 7, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Admission is free. Cookies, popcorn, coffee and drinks will be provided. Thirty turkeys and various prize baskets will go to the winners. About 400 to 500 people attended last year. Scholarship

Colter Norick, a senior at Columbia Falls High School, has been selected to receive a $20,000 college scholarship through the Samsung-American Legion program. Norick’s selection was based on his class standing, academic and civic achievements and financial need. Nine students earned the scholarship from a finalist group of nearly 100. Students must be direct descendants of U.S. wartime veterans.
