Bigfork football continued their winning streak Friday, beating Shelby 43-6 for Bigfork’s homecoming game.

Once again, the Vikings started out fast and scored early in the first quarter with a pass from Josh Sandry to Jon Landon for a touchdown.

Seconds into the second quarter Landon caught another touchdown pass, this one from Adam Jordt for a 39-yard goal.

Jordt got in on the scoring again for the next touchdown, catching a pass from Sandry.

With .01 left in the half, Bigfork scored again, and Sandry completed a two-point conversion to bring the score to 28-0 to end the first half.

Shelby came out of the locker room ready to go at the top of the third quarter and returned Sandry’s kickoff for a 90-yard touchdown. However, that would be their only time in the end zone as Bigfork’s defense continued to dominate.

The Vikings continued to move up the field on offense and Vinny Quirk snuck into the end zone two more times for Bigfork in the third quarter. An extra point kicked by Sandry and a two point conversion pass from Jordt to Isaac Martel brought Bigfork’s score to 43. Neither team scored in the fourth quarter.

Bigfork dominated the game with 24 first downs to Shelby’s two first downs.

“It was a good team win,” Sandry said. “We played great on all sides of the ball. We played outstanding defensively.”

“Our lines have been playing so well the last few weeks,” head coach Todd Emslie said.

The strong defense helped the Vikings to play equally strong on offense. Sandry had 279 passing yards and Martel led receiving with 107 yards.

“Everybody played how we needed them to play,” Martel said.

Bigfork will travel to Troy on Friday.
