Same-day registration important for voters

Say NO to LR 126.

As Montanans we should be proud of our election process. A 2014 report from the non-partisan Pew Charitable Trusts ranked Montana as the 11th best in America for efficient and well-run elections.  We should be proud that we are doing all that we can to help Montana citizens participate in the election process.

Many of those that are using the same-day registration are those who thought that they had registered through the DMV when applying for a driver’s license, those who have recently moved including senior citizens, and returning veterans. This law has given these citizens the opportunity to register, change or update their information and to cast their ballot.

Why change a law that has been successful over the past decade?  Vote NO on LR 126.
