'Nutcracker' performances for Thanksgiving weekend

The Northwest Ballet Company will perform their 21st annual production of “The Nutcracker” with five performances over Thanksgiving weekend at the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts.

Director Marisa Roth, her company of 18 and cast of 60 students and community participants have been preparing since September. Coram teenager Claire Schmidt will perform the role of Clara in the production.

Tickets for reserved seating are available in advance at the Kalispell Grand Hotel, at 755-8100, and at the Center’s box office one hour before performances start.

Prices are $22 adults, $20 seniors 65 and over and $15 children 12 and under. Shows will take place Friday, Nov. 28, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 29, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 30, at 4 p.m.

The popular Sugar Plum Fairy Parade will follow the 2 p.m. matinees on Friday and Saturday. For more information, call the Dance Art Center at 755-0760.
