I am writing in support of the best candidate for Flathead County Clerk and Recorder. That candidate is Debbie Pierson.

I had the professional pleasure of working with Debbie when we both were employed by the American Red Cross. That working experience demonstrated to me that Debbie is a dedicated and outcome-based employee.

In the year 2000, Debbie was awarded the American Red Cross prestigious “National Circle of Excellence Award.” She was one of only four recipients in a pool of thousands of employees. Her Red Cross work also required the recruitment and retention of volunteers for blood drives and these volunteers were devoted and loyal to Debbie. This coincides very well with volunteers needed for public elections.

Debbie’s 7.5 years of work with the Flathead County Commissioners Office has made a strong working relationship with the county management team, county staff and the public. Her county work as grant writer and administrator has given her the tools to meet the challenges of the office of County Clerk and Recorder.

The challenges include maintaining vital records, maintaining accurate and up to date land ownership records, auditing all financial transactions of the county, and providing the clerk to the county commissioners.

The office of Flathead County Clerk and Recorder is a vital piece of our local government. We need a person who understands conservative fiscal administration. One who is competent, accurate, reliable, and able to establish strong working relationships,
