Dorthea Murray

Dorthea E. Murray, 85, of Kalispell, passed away April 28, 2014, in Eureka.

She was born in Havre to Jack and Myra Alavana on June 5, 1928.

In her early years, she attended Eureka High School. She went on to earn a degree in nursing at Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Havre.

Dorthea worked as a nurse all over Montana — in Havre, Whitefish, Missoula and Glacier National Park. She spent 17 summers nursing in Glacier Park, where she made many lifelong friends. She enjoyed hiking, boating, swimming and traveling.

She is survived by her children, Cheri Watson and husband Kelly Watson, Scott Murray and wife Tina Murray, and Carol Murray-Duberow and husband Robin Duberow; five grandchildren, Katrina Elder, William Murray, Brett Murray, KC Watson and Jane Duberow; and two great-grandchildren, Kyler Elder and Baily Elder.

Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Eureka on May 23, 2014, at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Eureka Cemetery.
