Faith Ann Newman

Faith Ann Newman, 82, died April 30, 2014, at her residence in Columbia Falls, after a long battle with COPD.

She was born near Columbia Falls, the youngest of 10 children born to Leonard and Laura Seville, on Oct. 12,1931. She was raised in Coram.

Faith married Elwood “Bub” Newman on Aug. 14,1948. They had three children, Thomas, Larry and Edward.

She attended school in Columbia Falls and worked a number of years as a waitress, bartender and construction worker and as a baker and server for the hot lunch program in Columbia Falls schools.

Faith was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse, E.T. “Bub” Newman; and her siblings, Erma Owings, Florence Sawby, Elinor Walter, Leonard Seville, Pete Seville, Mary Cady and Bob Seville.

She is survived by her son Thomas Newman and wife Lynde, of Columbia Falls; son Larry Newman and wife Gwen, of Gold Bar, Wash.; son Edward Newman and wife Kimberly, of Helena; sister Edna Ridenour, of Lake Five; brother Fred Seville, of Homer, Alaska; grandchildren Tresha, Jessica, Rachel, Melissa, Laura, Kyle and Jared; great grandchildren Garrett, Allie, Olive, Abram, Danika and MaKenna; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia Falls on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at 3 p.m. with a reception following at the North Valley Senior Center on Nucleus Avenue in Columbia Falls. All friends and family are invited.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks people to consider donating to Hospice.
