Keith Mitton

| March 31, 2014 8:04 AM

Keith V. Mitton, 58, passed away from heart and respiratory failure at his home in Evergreen on March 21, 2014.

He was born in Whitefish on Nov. 26, 1955, to Vaughn and Hildegard Mitton, and was raised in Columbia Falls.

He worked at the Anaconda Aluminum Co. plant in Columbia Falls for several years and then at several jobs, including traveling to various cities working in telemarketing for volunteer organizations that put on benefit concerts, until ill health finally caused him to stop working.

Fondly known as “Cooter” by his friends, Keith’s ultimate love was his Harley and the sense of freedom it gave him when he rode it. He had a quick wit and loved making others laugh.

Keith was preceded in death by his father and mother, Vaughn and Hildegard.

He is survived by his brother Terry Mitton and his wife Susan, of Kalispell;  half sisters Jean England, of Columbia Falls, and Betty Cook and husband Harold, of Yakima, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews, including local nephews Scott Mitton and his wife Annie, Randy Rohrbach, and Kelly Rohrbach and his wife Susie; and one aunt, Ruth Boatwright, of Gilbert, Ariz.

To follow Keith’s wishes, there will be no formal service.
