Obamacare success

| March 27, 2014 8:20 AM

My wife and I have signed up for our health insurance since December through the Affordable Healthcare Act / Obamacare.

I am a retired high school teacher from School District 6 in Columbia Falls. We had been members of their health insurance plan for the past 29 years. A pre-existing condition prevented changing our health insurance plan upon my retirement.

There were many hours spent on the phone, and needless to say some frustration due to the glitches in the initial enrollment process. Through our new policy, we have a reduction in our premium of $600 a month, a similar deductible, and a far better prescription drug plan coverage.

I, for one, praise the Affordable Healthcare Act / Obamacare in its ability to make health care insurance available to all citizens and to rein in insurance, pharmaceutical and healthcare costs for the vast majority of Americans that enroll.
