Five inducted into C-Falls Hall of Fame

Columbia Falls High School has selected five 2014 seniors to be inducted into the high school’s athletic hall of fame for their distinguished high school accomplishments. They include Haley Belgarde, Alex Presnell, Josiah Osborne, Jared Trinastich and Mason Gedlaman.

• Belgarde was an all-conference basketball and volleyball player and an all-state basketball tournament selection in 2013 and 2014. She was the varsity basketball MVP in 2013 and 2014, the leading scorer in 2013 and 2014 and the leading rebounder in 2012 and 2013.

In track and field, Belgarde was named all-conference in discus in 2014, all-conference and all-state in the shotput in 2013 and 2014, and divisional champion in shot put in 2013 and 2014.

• Presnell was an all-conference cornerback and receiver for the football team in 2013 and a special teams player of the year. He also holds the school record in extra point percentage as a kicker, with 90 percent.

In basketball, Presnell was freshman and junior varsity MVP, an all conference selection in 2013 and 2014, and a member of the 2014 all state tournament team. He holds the school record for free throw percentage in a season at 91 percent in 2014, and the school record career free throw percentage at 85 percent. He was a member of two state championship basketball teams — 2011 and 2014.

• Osborne was a first team all conference and all-state safety for the football team in 2013 and team captain in 2012 and 2013.

In track, Osborne was named all-conference or all-state in multiple events, including the 4-by-100 meter relay, the 100 meter dash, the 200 meter dash and the long jump.

In wrestling, Osborne was divisional champ at 130 pounds in 2013 and named all conference in 2011, 2012 and 2013. He had 30 wins in 2013.

• Trinastich was named first team all conference and all-state quarterback in football in 2013, as the Wildcats posted its most successful season in years.

In basketball, Trinastich was named the team’s most valuable player in 2014, when he helped guide the team to a state Class A championship. He led the team in rebounding and defense in 2013 and 2014, and in field goal percentage in 2013.

In track, Trinastich was named all-conference in the javelin in 2014.

• Gedlaman was a state speech champion in impromptu debate in 2013 and 2014 and humorous oral interpretation in 2012 and 2013. He was state championship member throughout his high school career and most valuable team member in 2013 and 2014.

In basketball, Gedlaman was co-team captain in 2014. In soccer, Gedlaman was an all-conference goalie in 2014 and team captain in 2013 and 2014. In tennis, Gedlaman was named the team MVP and an all conference selection in 2014.

Gedlaman was also the 2014 Tom Dumay award winner and a 13-time Montana Coaches Association Academic all-state recipient.
