The driver of a logging truck that tipped over on the West Side Hungry Horse Reservoir Road last week was not seriously injured, but he was cited for careless driving.

The truck cab and lead trailer tipped over near the Lost Johnny Point Campground, spilling logs on the side of the road. The second trailer remained upright on the paved roadway.

“I got hit climbing out, so I have a bruise, but that’s about it,” said driver Terrell Thomas, who was working for All Terrain Trucking, of Kalispell.

According to Montana Highway Patrol trooper Jerril Ren, the northbound truck took a left-hand corner too fast and a right-side tire caught the edge of the pavement.

Thomas said he was driving carefully and blamed two blown tires on his lead trailer for the accident.

Personnel from the Hungry Horse and Martin City fire departments responded to the scene.
