Suspended sentence for shop burglar

A former Columbia Falls man has been sentenced to five years with the Montana Department of Corrections, all suspended, after he pleaded guilty to a single charge of felony burglary.

Flathead County District Court Judge Heidi Ulbricht also ordered Daniel Tucker, 18, to pay $3,575 in restitution and $800 in public defender fees, with half suspended. She also recommended Tucker for placement at the Treasure State boot camp.

According to court records, police responded to a shop break-in on Fairmont Road in Kalispell on Jan. 28, 2013.

Tucker was arrested after he allegedly tried to pawn tools taken from the shop at First National Pawn in Kalispell. He allegedly confessed to helping another man steal the tools.

Ulbricht sentenced Tucker in line with a plea agreement reached on July 3, 2013.
